CNC Milling Machines HWT

Since 1994 we have been engaged in developing and manufacturing 3-axis to 5-axis CNC milling machines. 3-axis milling machines find their application predominantly in the field of making graphite electrodes, machining of plastics and wood, etc. With the use of digitizing probes they enable for space digitization of models. HWT milling machines are suitable for education purposes in NC programming as well. Milling machines are manufactured to order in various dimension modifications and with different equipment per client's specific requirements.

Machine Description HWT milling machines are PC-controlled double-column milling machines. Machine's basic version of HWT C-442 CNC type designation with its working space XY:400 mm Z:200 mm allows for treating the most frequently occurring workpiece dimensions. The travels are driven by inching motors with ball screws. There are optical gauges (proof passes) on all axes to define reference points thus able to perform repeated in-run to a required point even after turning OFF the machine.

We are manufacturers of two versions:

PROFIVERSION:

Milling head is fitted with 1000 W motor having continuously adjustable revolutions equal to 2000-25000 rpm. You clamp your tools with ER-16 chuck collets of 1 to 10 mm clamping diameters. PROFIVERSION is characteristic for its rather more rigid frame and therefore particularly suitable for graphite electrode production, milling of plastics, wood, aluminium etd. You can equip this version with milling head thermal expansion compensation which together with the machine parameters makes it possible to perform precision turning while the price/output ratio is also of substantial interest. We sell these milling machines in various modifications of machining space covering.

HOBBYVERSION:

Milling head is fitted with 500 W motor having continuously adjustable revolutions of 2000-25000 rpm. You clamp your tools into one-sided chuck collets with max. chucking diameter of 8 mm. This version is especially appropriate for educational and hobby purposes.

The Milling
Milling is carried out either manually or automatically per NC program. The control program provides for tool end positions, calculates path length, enables a simple graphic simulation of NC program before as well as in course of milling, and controls the tool going off the working area. Feed rate is determined through NC program and machining acceleration coefficient able to be altered continuously at any moment required. Control system monitors cutting tool loading. If exceeding the set value it automatically slows down the feed and waits until the tool "eats through" the material and only then continues at operating speed. This function facilitates machining the complicated shapes and makes it feasible to operate even with those feed figures selected inappropriately in NC program, in addition it safeguards the tool and the material against damage which is pretty significant when applying small-size tools. This function is active during manual milling as well. When the tool loading exceeds the set period then the system stops all the feeds, turns OFF spindle motor and displays motor overloading message asking whether to continue operation. So there is no loss of data nor positions and machining may continue. This is the reason HWT milling machines are suitable for training in NC programming. Further on, the control program enables for automatic length correction following tool replacement which makes work easier when handling more cutting tools.
Scanning
Manufactured and attached to the milling machine are the probes for 3D contact digitization. Following their attachment the milling machine becomes space digitizer. The probe that scans electrically conductive materials is of high sensitivity and is capable to scan metal materials as well as non-metallic ones with treated conductivity, e.g. moist gypsum, moist cloth, components with metal coating, etc. We are also engaged in manufacturing highly sensitive probes scanning non-conductive materials. Using this type of probe will allow you to scan virtually any material applied wiithin engineering practice. Its sensitivity is such that it scans without any problem a shape modelled out of plasticine with no trace left on its surface, along with shapes made of materials like rubber, cloth, fabric, expanded materials and alike.

Optional features
For special purposes, such as grinding and engraving with small tools or wood machining etc., the headstock can be fitted a pneumatic spindle with the speed of 60,000 rpm up to the power of 1 kW or with a high-frequency spindle with the speed of up to 24,000 rpm and the power of up to 2.2 kW.
