Firm history
|
The firm was set up in 1994. From its establishment the company has been an authorized dealer of CAD system CADKEY and CAD/CAM system SURFCAM. For the purpose of debugging of NC programs, digitizing and production of models, the company started to develop the 3-axis CNC milling machine. In cooperation with the Military Cartographic Institute the firm, as the first in the Czech Republic, got engaged in milling relief maps.

The first prototype of HWT X-442 CNC machine was presented at the exhibition ComputerGraphics 1995 at stall 3e Praha Engineering, a.s. With regard to the positive acceptance and raising interest in this kind of machine it was necessary to modify the construction for a marketable version. The first milling machine of the series HWT A-442.1 was sold at the end of 1996 and it has been in intensive operation to this day.

The series A was rebuilt by means of gradual innovations for the series B.
The milling machines of the series A and B were used mainly in production of models for castings, prototype models, debugging of
NC programs, 3D digitizing and teaching CNC machines programming. However, these machines could not keep up with the more
demanding requirements for accuracy and speed of milling. Therefore the development of a new conception of milling machine was
started drawing on the previous experience. The first milling machine of the new series HWT C-442.1 was made in 1999.
|
|
Gradually, the technology of precision production, adjusting and measuring was mastered and it was possible to use HWT C milling machines for production of graphite electrodes for industrial use. Since 2002 the milling machines have been produced in two versions. The standard version HOBBY with a favourable price is designed for teaching, model-making and similar less demanding applications.

|
The version PROFI has a more rigid construction, a more efficient spindle, full covering of the machining space and optional accessories. These milling machines find their major use in production of graphite electrodes.
